Arctic Cat

Arctic Cat ATV Carburetor

The company that would eventually become Arctic Cat was founded by Edgar Hetteen in 1960 after leaving his original business venture, Polaris Industries. Originally called Polaris Manufacturing Company and later, Arctic Enterprises, Hetteen continued building high-performance snowmobiles and enjoyed considerable growth and success in the 1960s and 70s, but ultimately suffered a decline and Arctic Enterprises ended up declaring bankruptcy in 1982. Hetteen and a group of investors returned in 1984 with a renewed spirit and got right back to work building snowmobiles. The new company was called Arctico and their new product line, called Arctic Cat, was a major success. Arctic Cat snowmobiles allowed Arctico to venture into building ATVs; the first of these Arctic Cat ATVs was called the Bearcat 454. The Arctic Cat Bearcat 454’s breakout sales prompted a new name change and new identity from Arctico to Arctic Cat and the original Bearcat became the foundation for all future Arctic Cat ATVs. If you ride or own an Arctic Cat ATV, trust HQ Powersports to be your source for OEM-spec aftermarket replacement parts such as a carburetor for Arctic Cat ATV. Carburetors are relatively easy to maintain, but they still do have their share of faults and failures. If you’ve already attempted to repair or rebuild a carburetor yourself, you may be in need of a full carburetor replacement unit.
